Hari Bumi atau Earth Day diperingati pada tanggal 22 April setiap tahunnya secara internasional. Hari Bumi/Earth Day dirancang untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan apresiasi terhadap planet yang ditinggali manusia ini yaitu bumi. Hari Bumi atau Earth Day dicanangkan oleh Senator Amerika Serikat Gaylord Nelson pada tahun 1970 seorang pengajar lingkungan hidup. Tanggal ini bertepatan pada musim semi di Northern Hemisphere (belahan Bumi utara) dan musim gugur di belahan Bumi selatan. PBB sendiri merayakan hari Bumi pada 20 Maret sebuah tradisi yang dicanangkan aktivis perdamaian John McConnell pada tahun 1969, adalah hari dimana matahari tepat di atas khatulistiwa yang sering disebut Ekuinoks Maret.
