Anthony Hopkins was born on 31st December 1937 in Margam, Wales. Influenced by Richard Burton he decided to study at College of Music and Drama and graduated in 1957. In 1965 he moved to London and joined the National Theater, invited by Laurence Olivier, who could see the talent in Hopkins. In 1967 he made his first film for television, "A Flea in Her Ear".

This fair skin beauty made out her road to the film industry from ballet to drama and then to the movies.

A portrait tribute to the Hollywood actress, Elizabeth Taylor (1932-); painted by Stephen B Whatley in 1993 - and inspired by photographs of the legendary star with her 8th husband Larry Fortensky, to whom she was married from 1991 to 1996.
This painting was one of 24 iconic tributes to the glamorous female stars of Hollywood's Golden Era that formed Stephen B Whatley's 1993 exhibition, Hollywood Gold, at London's Royal National Theatre.
