In many parts of the words, especially the socially orthodox one, the French kiss is regarded as taboo. God bless Them all. There it is not regarded as desirable in public. In modern time, with the development of recent physical science, there is one red light of caution for it, too. It is believed that where the tongues of two persons meet, there are chances of catching some orally transmittable diseases. But the lovers would not care. Kissing is a physical expression of deep affection or love between two persons, these persons can be lovers or mother and a child, too. However in most of the kisses the sensations of touch, taste, and smell are involved. According to psychologist Menachem Brayer, although many "mammals, birds, and insects exchange caresses" which appear to be kisses of affection, i.e. "love birds," they are not kisses as we, the humans consider them. Psychologist William Cane notes that kissing in Western society is most often a romantic act and describes a few of its attributes.
